What sets our workforce apart

Mirvac’s team is our most valuable asset, and we invest in our people accordingly. A huge part of this is creating a positive workplace environment, where people are respected, encouraged and rewarded.

Over the years, we’re proud to have built a culture of inclusivity, innovation and collaboration, becoming a place where people genuinely want to work. We feel fortunate to have so many talented, purpose-driven individuals on our team.

AFR BOSS BEST PLACE TO WORK FOR THE PROPERTY SECTOR

The AFR Boss Best Places to Work awards recognise organisations that are pioneering new ways of working and pushing the boundaries when it comes to workplace policies and practices. Mirvac won the top spot in the 2022 AFR BOSS Best Places to Work list for the Property, Construction and Transport sector.

Living our values

At Mirvac, our overarching purpose is to reimagine urban life. Day-to-day, we do this by living the values we’ve defined for ourselves.

We put people first.
This means we listen to, understand and respond to our customers and treat all people with respect. It also means we support the professional development of our people and encourage flexibility for better work/life balance.

We’re passionate about quality and legacy.
Through our work, we strive to deliver enduring customer-focused quality, and leave a positive legacy in the communities in which we operate.

We collaborate.
We build trusted relationships and leverage the power of working as one team within our business and with our partners.

We’re curious and bold.
We’re not afraid to explore what’s possible, be bold in our actions, and ask ‘why not?’.

How we work is as important as what we do.
We’re leaders in safety, sustainability, innovation, inclusion and learning – these things set us apart.

We are genuine and do the right thing.
Our people are down to earth, we take ownership, and we do what we say we’ll do.

Diversity & equality

A key part of Mirvac’s vision is to build a diverse team and inclusive culture that values different perspectives. We want our culture to enable people to contribute safely, realise their potential and respond to our stakeholders’ needs – and in doing so, provide Mirvac with a competitive advantage. As well as our commitment to maintaining an even gender balance, we also focus on flexibility, building an inclusive culture and encouraging diversity of thought. Mirvac is committed to being an LGBTQI+ inclusive workplace and has recently submitted to gain Bronze accreditation with the Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI). We partner with the Pinnacle Foundation through sponsorship of 3 scholars in property and construction.

We are currently engaging closely with Reconciliation Australia on the development of our third RAP, with an intended launch in 2024. In line with Reconciliation Australia’s guidance, we remain an active partner during this interim period until the new plan has been endorsed. We are continuing to implement our existing commitments, undertaking our reporting requirements and developing a sustainable and meaningful new plan.

Mirvac have consistently been named as an Employer of Choice by the Workplace Gender and Equality Agency (WGEA) and in 2024, we are ranked number eight globally by Equileap in its Gender Equality Global Report, within a global field of 4,000 companies across 19 criteria to take this high ranking spot. We are also certified as a Family Inclusive Workplace by Family Friendly Workplaces, ensuring all employees with carer responsibilities (over half of our people) have support to navigate their work and personal life.

At Mirvac we are proud to have a 0% like-for-like pay gap for the 8th year running. We are working to close our organisational gap, by increasing the number of women in senior roles and employing women in traditionally male dominated roles within Mirvac such as Construction.

Our Leaders are committed to this goal through:

  • - Focusing on the employee experience by prioritising the safety and wellbeing of our people and ensuring that we maintain an engaging and positive culture
  • - Investing in the development of our people’s skills and experience across our integrated model to enable them to grow in their careers. In creating a strong learning culture, we are developing future leaders to be both technical experts and inclusive leaders to leave a positive legacy in the communities we operate in.
  • - Our CEO, Campbell Hanan is a member of the Champions of Change Property Group, which brings together senior leaders to achieve greater gender equality in the property industry and to increase the number of women in leadership roles. Campbell has further committed to addressing tough spots in Property, including; gender equality in construction.
  • - Bringing recruitment inhouse to ensure targeted focus on females for senior roles and females in Construction.
  • - Partnering with Our Watch to address violence against women and their children; Mirvac has a zero tolerance policy.
  • - Having gender targets for promotions and opportunities for Women in Management.
  • - Targeted talent development and succession planning for all ELT and MLT roles.
  • - Intern and Cadetship programs with a focus on employing females into male dominant roles to grow our Talent.
  • - We are committed to providing a safe and inclusive workplace for all LGBTQI+ employees, as well as those with other diverse backgrounds and lived experiences.
