Marrickville Library takes home four architecture awards
Designed by BVN, delivered by Mirvac and Inner West Council, loved by all.
The stunning Marrickville Library, which forms the heart of our Marrick & Co community, has just collected four prestigious architecture awards.
Designed by BVN and delivered by Mirvac in partnership with Inner West Council, the library embodies everything that is commendable about public architecture. It honours the heritage and history of the former Marrickville Hospital, integrating the old with the new, and provides a focal point for the community.
To win four NSW Architecture Awards, including the NSW Premier’s Prize, the Milo Dunphy Award for Sustainable Architecture and the award for Public Architecture, is no mean feat. And just for good measure the library also took out a People’s Choice award, introduced in response to COVID-19, voted the winner of the category, We Are In This Together.
We are extremely proud to have played a part in realising the vision for Marrickville Library and in doing so delivered one of the key pillars of One Planet Living – culture and community - to our Marrick & Co residents.
Mirvac acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Owners of the lands and waters of Australia, and we offer our respect to their Elders past and present.
