A jewelled oasis in the city

Design Article #18

Mesmerising in every way, Trielle expresses the clarity and quality of a rare gem, its sparkling façade a beacon lighting the way to a life of exquisite luxury.

Melbourne is a city celebrated for its style, from the exclusive boutiques that line Collins Street, to its multi-hatted restaurants and awe-inspiring architecture. Soon to add its own sparkle to the city skyline is Trielle, the much-anticipated crown jewel of Mirvac’s award-winning Yarra’s Edge community in Melbourne’s Docklands.

Positioned alongside the Yarra River, Trielle will be a striking presence, the tower rising 45 storeys and offering an unprecedented level of luxury in its 191 apartments with views to match.

Mirvac Design Director Michael Wiener has evoked the crown jewel metaphor with a soaring tower that is all the more beautiful for its rarity.

“We have always felt that Trielle is in fact the jewel in the crown of Yarra’s Edge and we set about creating a jewel-like faceted and sculpted building,” says Mr Wiener.

“This is the hero, the iconic building that as you walk along Collins Street or drive across the Bolte Bridge, captures your gaze. Being located at the Collins Street axis makes it a critically important building in terms of its urban context within the city.

“The jewel like quality of the external architecture is carried through to the internal architecture, the two connected so that people have a holistic experience.”

In a world where the word luxury has lost much of its meaning, Trielle has earned the description, imparting what Mr Wiener believes is the greatest luxury of all. Time. “Real luxury is having time to do as you please, not running from place to place but strolling. Time is luxurious and in this beautiful urban oasis there is time and a place for solitude and reflection and a place for social interaction.”

Inspiration for the luscious interiors is drawn from the virtuosos of the design world; Le Corbusier, Jeanne Toussaint and Sotiris Voulgaris, whose iconoclastic designs gave the world so many enduring contemporary classics.

Envisioned to cultivate a lifestyle where every need is within residents’ easy reach, Trielle’s shared spaces adopt four themes: focus, connect, revel, and reset.

Focus-themed spaces are proposed to include a warm and inviting library with work pods for privacy. With many people adopting hybrid working, Trielle offers modern work-from-home spaces and high-speed WiFi throughout many of the common areas, providing sophisticated and peaceful zones that are equal part focus and repose.

Opportunities to connect include a concierge, business lounge and bookable dining rooms for stylish entertaining and shared moments of indulgence. Equally inviting are the exclusive spaces proposed for revelry, a piano lounge, chef’s table, adjoining wine bar, games room, cocktail bar, theatre, teppanyaki barbecue, fire pit and golf simulator.

Presenting the purest expression of luxury, the Scandinavian inspired wellness club, The Oasis, will allow residents to reset in a remarkable urban rainforest set seven storeys above the Yarra’s Edge promenade. With a stream proposed to run through its centre, the play of lush wilderness against a fast-paced city is affirmation that nature is a gift that can be packaged and enjoyed anywhere at any time.

The Oasis is envisaged to offer residents spaces for indulgent rejuvenating facials, massages and hydrotherapy treatments. Also on the proposed wellness menu is a biophilic gym, swimming pool and sauna, cold-pail contrast treatment and hot magnesium pool, created in collaboration with luxury spa guru, Naomi Gregory.

“Trielle’s proposed amenity is nothing short of unique; it blends the trailblazing ideas, expertise and artistry of design visionaries past and present,” says Elysa Anderson, Mirvac General Manager, Residential Development VIC & WA.

“The result is a building that is both timeless and future-focused, that offers a new level of luxury at our iconic Yarra’s Edge legacy precinct.” A building that celebrates nature and the built form in equal measure, Trielle sets out to leave a light environmental footprint. As a fully electric building with sustainability enhanced by the selection of water wise plant species, EV fast chargers in the carpark, the building’s own e-bikes and an organic processing unit, it’s easy for residents to live up to their own sustainability ambitions. Trielle’s vision of luxury comes to life in a multitude of ways, not least offering some of the largest apartments at Yarra’s Edge with fewer per floor than earlier towers in the exclusive precinct. Impressive ceiling heights add to the sense of space and grandeur.

Purchasers of 1 and 2 bedroom apartments in the Signature Collection will enjoy an enviable hotel luxe lifestyle metres from the water’s edge. Miele appliances complement kitchens whose hero feature is a sculptural natural stone benchtop. A gem like basin, custom designed by Apaiser, and rain shower elevate the bathroom beyond the ordinary.

The Prestige Collection of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom apartments layers luxury upon luxury with generous floorplans and balconies overlooking the river and city, and Gaggenau appliances in the entertainer’s kitchen.

Sub-Penthouses rewrite the rules of refined living with over-sized residences featuring a butler’s kitchen that brings professional flair to hosting at home. Bedrooms capture sensational river and city views framed by floor to ceiling windows with walk-in wardrobes befitting the finest labels and a master ensuite that is pure pampering pleasure. A vast open plan living space with bespoke custom joinery is complemented by a second living room, for more intimate relaxation. Future residents will find themselves part of a wellestablished community of more than 3,000 with a tempting array of restaurants and cafes along the Yarra’s Edge boardwalk and parks and a playground adding a leafy edge to the waterfront. A stroll along the boardwalk with or without a dog in tow is a gentle way to nourish body and soul or step up the pace for a more serious workout. Cyclists will appreciate the quick two wheel commute to work in the CBD via the magnificent Webb Bridge over the Yarra.

Marina YE serves the needs of boaties and there are plans for a boutique retail hub to serve the local community and broader Fisherman’s Bend and Docklands catchment. Progressively developed by Mirvac over 20 years, Yarra’s Edge has been waiting a long time for Trielle. It was worth every minute of the wait.
