The City of Logan now has its own $16 million major AFL hub, with the completion and opening of a new state-of-the-art AFL clubhouse at Mirvac’s Everleigh community in Greenbank.

The opening of the $6 million clubhouse and café marks the official completion of the competition-grade AFL precinct at Everleigh Sports Park. The AFL clubhouse which was unveiled today was co-funded by Mirvac, Logan City Council, Queensland Government, Federal Government and AFL Queensland.

The park’s clubhouse has been designed to sit as the centrepiece and connects both Everleigh and the wider Logan community through sport and events.

Mirvac General Manager, Residential Development QLD, Warwick Bible said the innovative and seamless public-private partnership has enabled the delivery of this state-of-the-art piece of community infrastructure.

“Today’s official opening of the AFL Clubhouse at Everleigh is a result of years of work behind the scenes with Council, Federal Government, State Government and AFL Queensland,” Mr Bible said.

“Our focus has always been to deliver infrastructure that the community is proud of, and after just 12 months of construction, it’s great to be able to officially open the AFL Clubhouse at the 4th Everleigh Games. I thank everyone who has helped bring this project to life and I’m confident it will serve as a central hub for sports enthusiasts across the community,” said Mr Bible.

The clubhouse is the final element of the Everleigh AFL facility which also boasts an MCG-sized AFL oval and Auskick field featuring a six-metre by three-metre electronic scoreboard, state competition standard goal posts, field lighting and terrace seating for 300 spectators, with additional capacity for up to 700 additional spectators around the field.

State Member for Logan, Linus Power MP said this AFL facility is a great long-term base for Logan, providing world-class facilities that will foster community spirit and support local athletes.

“It’s fantastic to see this investment come to life in one of Queensland's fastest-growing communities. I hope that we will inspire more young people to get active, participate in sport, and dream big, knowing they have a world-class venue right in their backyard,” said Mr Power.

"We are committed to creating more opportunities across Logan, ensuring that our community continues to thrive with great sporting, recreational, and educational programs and facilities,” said Mr Power.

Logan Mayor Jon Raven said Logan City Council was the majority funding partner in the development of the clubhouse.

“By working with a strong group of stakeholders we now have this amazing, modern facility for footy fans,” Cr Raven said.

“This is sure to put Everleigh at the top of the list of great community AFL venues in our young and fast-growing city.”

Head of AFL Queensland, Trisha Squires said amidst one of Queensland's fastest-growing areas, it's truly exciting to see Australian rules football deeply invested in the new Everleigh community.

“This facility isn't just a home for club community football, ranging from NAB AFL Auskick to juniors and seniors, but also stands as a state-of-the-art venue capable of hosting major sporting events such as grand finals and representative fixtures.  As a dedicated Australian rules football hub right in the heart of Everleigh, we are thrilled to have the support of The Federal Government, State Government, Logan City Council and Mirvac in bringing this vision to life for our expanding Aussie rules community,” she said.

The new facility features two buildings, with two sets of unisex change rooms to cater for multiple back-to-back games, unisex umpire rooms, a club room and public toilets. It also includes a 130sqm café tenancy with full kitchen, which will be managed by The Eve Café & Bar operator.
