Building Climate Resilience

29th August 2022

We’ve released our fourth climate resilience report, which highlights our achievements so far, and what our future focus will be.

Climate resilience is the ability to anticipate, prepare for, and respond to weather events such as heat waves, extreme rain and flood events, droughts, a rise in sea levels, and bushfires.

Our sustainability strategy, This Changes Everything, sets bold targets and mobilises our organisation to develop and manage increasingly climate positive assets.

This last year saw us deliver a significant milestone - we met our ambitious target to become net positive in carbon nine years early. We are proud of this achievement, particularly in the context of an evolving climate crisis that continues to become more immediate and concerning.

The report outlines other ways in which Mirvac has been addressing climate related risks and opportunities, for example beginning to plan for 2050 by developing scenarios in which the world will decarbonise fast or slow, and considering our response to those potential operating environments.

Mirvac acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Owners of the lands and waters of Australia, and we offer our respect to their Elders past and present.
